  • Thank you for your interest in working in the Collaborative Learning Studio. Please fill out this application in its entirety to be considered for a position. The CLS needs to hire approximately 3-5 student workers for the 2026-7 academic year.

    Job Title: Collaborative Learning Studio (CLS) Tutor/Workshop Leader 
     
    Hours: 5-10 hours per week. Hours are 10am-5pm M-F, weekends by appointment only. This position will last throughout the 2026-7 academic year, and may include up to 10 hours of work per week. You must also be available for training during the week of August 18. 
     
    Pay: $11/hour 
     
    Description: CLS Tutors work one-on-one with students in-person or online to assist with papers, projects, and assignments for Studio and Liberal Arts courses, as well as time management, motivation, and student success strategies. You will receive training in all of these areas if you are hired for the position. 
     
    Peer workshop leaders, with guidance from Megan Martin, the Associate Director of Academic Success, assist with brainstorming, planning, and leading art-making, creative writing, and academic events and workshops, and running the CLS Gallery. Some of our recent events have included Flower Arranging, Printmaking, Character Design, Junk Journaling, Crocheting, Poetry Writing, Time Management, Business Card Design, and more. We also host regular writing and study groups for specific classes. Ideal candidates will be able to tutor both writing/liberal arts and studio courses. 
     
    Required Qualifications: 
     
    * Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and a minimum grade of B+ in any course you will tutor 
    * Interest in collaborating with other tutors to create events and workshops 
    * Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to support and empathize with students 
    * For studio tutors: demonstrated mastery of the studio area you will tutor 
    * For writing tutors: strong understanding of writing mechanics including content, organization, grammar, research, style, and MLA documentation 
    * Comfortable working both one-on-one and collaborating with a team  
    * Strong public speaking skills  

    * Willingness to create and distribute marketing materials, do administrative work (computer, data entry, keeping the space tidy, recording student attendance). 

    * Ability to correctly enter time in the ADP app and adhere to payroll deadlines
