Ascend:
Ascend, originally named NAASA, was launched by a group of dedicated leaders who were committed to advancing the finance and accounting professions in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities. Since its founding in 2005, Ascend’s mission and focus has expanded to include individuals and companies from other disciplines who share common objectives of reaching their optimal business potential. Today, Ascend is the premier professional organization dedicated to enabling its members, business partners and the community to leverage the leadership and global business potential of Pan-Asians.
Deloitte:

Scholarship Program:
In an effort to recognize some of the top students on campus, Ascend and Deloitte will reward deserving students with a $3,000 scholarship and exposure to Deloitte.
Eligibility:
Enrollment at a four-year U.S. college/university as a full-time undergraduate student with Sophomore, Junior, or Senior (if enrolled in a 5-year program) status in Fall 2010
Academic and career interest in Accounting
Strong academic standing (3.3 or higher cumulative & major GPAs)
Active Ascend membership
To apply, please provide the following:
1. Resume (including current cumulative & major GPAs)
2. Unofficial college/university transcript
3. Personal essay on how you have demonstrated leadership and teamwork in your academic studies, work experiences, and/or extracurricular /volunteer activities; please include why you believe these qualities are important
One paragraph describing your career goals upon graduation
Selection:
1. After reviewing all applications, finalists will be contacted for an interview with a member of Ascend’s Scholarship Committee and/or Deloitte
2. Scholarship recipient(s) will be honored at the Ascend National Convention in NYC (August 14- 16, 2010)
