Feature Request: Ability to turn off Required Fields and other validity checking on Submission edit

I have on occasion needed to enter a record that violates my own validation rules.  I wouldn't want my end user to be able to do that but I'm ok with me overriding my own entry.  Is there a way to say, don't validate edits.  Or "confirm but go ahead anyway" only when in submissions edit? 

I have attached a feature request ticket to this thread, but we can not provide any ETA for now. We will let you know if we have any updates on this.
