Widget Request - Possible to resize or crop photo before upload

I know this has been requested before, but I am going to ask again - can you PLEASE make it possible to resize a photo before it is submitted?  Ideally there would be an option that allows you set the maximum pixel width for a photo (similar to how you allow the user to set the maximum file size).

The coding would be easy.  There are tons of examples on the web.  Here are two examples I found:

I can see a request forwarded by my colleague to our developers a year ago and I'm not sure if this feature will be implemented and when if ever this will get implemented. What I can do is send your request to our developer. If this is added to our features then you should get notified here.
