Every season, I have a similar sign up form and many of the same people sign up again. It would be great if I could have the user enter their name and then have jotform look up their information from a previous form or spreadsheet and fill in the pertinent fields in the new form. Any ideas?

Hi bhegman,
You can achieve this by using Conditional Logics in the form. It will populate data to the form based on the option or value that put chose or entered. If it is an existing user, you can probably try using a drop down of names.
This is a sample form that I've created - http://support.jotform.com/form/42863115575963
On the form editor, I created a drop down for names and corresponding email fields with default values for each.
Then I go to Conditions Wizard and selected Show/Hide a Form Field
Then I add rules and condition so that when user chose a name, the appropriate email will pop up with a default value on it.
You might want to check this app, it could be helpful for you.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.
