MySql Export App only downloads as one file

Asked on October 18, 2014 at 10:37 AM

    Hi,

Earlier I used your MySQL Export application and downloaded a file successfully. I tried it again as I hand a field name error so I renamed the field in the app. and tried to down load it again and it wouldn't download. So I tried another form, checked the field names and tried to download it and it won't download.

It appears it will only let me down load one file, why is that? Do I have to buy this app or am I doing something wrong?

    The forms I tried to download are;

    Dog ID Registration Form, formID=33504157430850

    Club Membership Registration Form, formID=33435415238250

    Thank you,

    Robert

If I understand you correctly our MySQL Export App is giving you issues when you attempt to download files, correct?

I did a separate test of this and it appears to be working normally as it should.I did the same with three tests from your jotform and it was the same result.

I've cleared your jotforms caches, can you please try it again and let us know if you're still having problems with it or not?

I meant to additionally explain it should pull all of your received submission data. If you look in the notepad preview above of the .SQL File I had opened it shows 3 test submissions which appear normal.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

I tried it again and after following the steps and clicking on download nothing happens.

I keep trying download and nothing, is it processing all the data first and this takes a bit of time, if so how will I know when it is done?

Also, after I add the application where do I find it to use again. Currently I'm going back to plugins, apps and adding it every time I want to use it. I don't see it in my widgets list or anywhere else.

Also after I have created the table(s) and it is (they are) populated with current data how do I update the table(s) data, do I run the app every time or do I create a php file with the code that generates this table and it updates new entry's ? Hope I'm clear on this point.

    Hi Robert,

    Thanks for your reply.

I have also tried it my self and it seems working just fine. When you press the download button, it should automatically download the compressed sql file (.zip) like the following.

May I suggest to try clearing your browser's cache and check it again. You can also try it with different browsers. If none of these helps, would you be so kind to help us track the error? Here's what you need to do,

    1. Open your browser console

    2. Try to export an sql file again. If it failed, check if there are errors shown in the console.

    3. Paste the error here so we can forward it to our developers.

    We'll await your reply. Thanks!

P.S. You can actually bookmark this app URL http://mysqldump.jotform.io/ so you can quickly open it from your bookmark bar.

    ----

Your question about the PHP thing will be answered on a separate thread. Thanks!

    Hi,

Thank you for your help. I have tried everything you have suggested.

       1. Chrome, reset and cleared all history and cache. It still won't download new sql.zip file.

       2. IE 11, reset and cleared cache. When I try using the app it keeps asking me to Authenticate, when I do it indicates authentication successful and then asks me to Authenticate again and again, as if I'm not even logged into JotForm.

       3.  Netscape, The first time I tried it the sql.zip downloaded. I then was able to upload the sql file to my db and it worked just fine.  I tried it again and nothing happens when I click the download button just like when using Chrome. I reset the browser cache and still the new file will not download.

I don't see any error messages.

I don't understand why its works for you and not me.

    Any further help is appreciated.

    TNX

    Robert

    Hello Robert,

    That is strange.

I also tested the "MySQL Export" app and I am unable to replicate the issue you are having. I was able to download the MySQL zip file multiple times without any issue.

Can you please confirm which operating system you are using? If would like to replicate the issue here and then send it to our back end team.

We will wait for your response.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    My OS is Win.8.1

It lets me download one file and nothing after that even if I pick a different form.

I Will try this on my Win.7 PC and Mac and let you know how that works.

Have you tried renaming any of the column names before downloading?  Perhaps that may be the problem or not????

Don't you just love a mystery?

    OK,

I tried this on a iPad and a Win 7 PC and I get exactly the same problems.

    One thing I have seen is that no matter which computer I use my Column Names are the new ones I used. I also noted no matter which data base export application I use the columns retain the new names, applications like;

    MS Sql Server Export

    SQL Lite Export

    Maria DB Export

and none will download the files when I click on 'Download'

The only app I can reuse is; 'Combine Submissions', it works every time.

Please feel free to use my forms and their data to test this out.

    Regards,

    Robert

    Hello Robert,

Thank you for the additional details.

Yes I did test it after changing the columns names and I was able to download the SQL file more than once.

Let me report it to our back end team and they will be able to troubleshoot this issue. We will get back to you as soon we have any update form them. I would also suggest you to please send us the changed column names of your form #33504157430850 and #33435415238250 and we will take a look if that is causing this issue.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

I believe I have resolved the problem.

I did a right click on the download button and clicked reload. I was then able to download a file and select another and download it right away.

Please don't spend anymore time on this and thank you for your help.

Best regards to the JotForm Team,

    Robert
