How can i get text to show instead of a "colored box" on my calendar reports

I am using the calendar option to view a report of my submissions because the content is date-driven information.  When i go to the report, as indicated on the screenshot i provided you will see either a color circle or square  on the calendar indicating there is a submission for that date. You then have to click on that circle or square to get the heading of that submission entry and then click again on that to view the full submission entry. I would at least like to be able to see the submission heading entry on this main calendar screen (even if it means it would be truncated). Any suggestions/options?

Unfortunately, the report cannot be styled and has limited options right now. Only the specific date including the year gets displayed, if the date is not over yet. Sorry for this but that is how the calendar reports work.
