Uploading images uploads only 1 (same) for all fields even if 4 different are added, if uploaded over cellphone browser

I was wondering if you could advise if the same functionality should happen when completing the forms via a tablet or cellphone browser? After selecting/uploading the pictures onto the form and the user submits the form it only 'saves/uploads' one picture across the field, even though 4 separate pictures are uploaded.

Thanks again for resolving and looking into the issue.

    Hi,

Could you please tell us what device / browser you were using so that we can properly check this on our side with the same or similar devices and browsers and see if we can recreate the issue.

Also if you do not mind telling us the submission ID of the submissions where the issues happened so that we can take a look at them.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

    Hi Ben,

I have a few different users using these forms but all are using a Samsung Device (SII, S4, & Note 3) and one is using an ASUS Tablet 7 inch. They are also all using Chrome Browser for the mobile.

I just retested it on my mobile device (Note 3 - Chrome) and appears to be uploading accurately now. I did a test one because I edited the ones submitted yesterday.

If any of the users have additional issues I will supply the submission ID of the failed form.

Thanks again for looking into and correcting these issues!

    Good morning,

One of the users last night submitted a form but appears to only have the single image upload. She completed the form via her Asus Memo Tablet using the chrome browser. Here is the link of her submission. http://www.jotform.com/submissions/42115245278149

Thanks again in advance for your help

    Hi,

OK, so the issue is with the jotform ID 42115245278149 and its submission ID
    293466709821815409.

From what I can see is that all 4 images have the same photo, with same name as well.

Uploading images uploads only 1 (same) for all fields even if 4 different are added, if uploaded over cellphone browser Image 1 Screenshot 20

*I have intentionally blurred the images in the screenshot for privacy reasons, but all 4 are exactly the same in submission.

Looking at your jotform I see that it is using old version of the image upload preview widget. What I would suggest is to remove the ones you currently have and add new ones instead. This would load the latest widget to your jotform and should help with the issue that you have.

Do let us know if case you have any issues after removing the old ones and adding new image upload preview widgets.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

    Thanks Ben,

The user informed and showed me that 4 separate photos were previewed/uploaded but only the last picture uploaded is saved for all 4. I will update the upload preview widget on all of my forms to see if this corrects the issue and have the user retest it.

Quick question, if I delete the old widget will it remove all of the data that has been previously submitted or would I still have access to retrieve the images when looking at submissions?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I will update the upload preview widget on all of my forms to see if this corrects the issue and have the user retest it.

OK, great. Do let us know how it goes once you test it.

Quick question, if I delete the old widget will it remove all of the data that has been previously submitted or would I still have access to retrieve the images when looking at submissions?

That is a very good question. If you only remove some field, then you will not be able to see the data that field has collected. If you remove a field and then add another one of same type and same name, it will show all of the fields made by the old field and the ones created with it.

So for example, if you remove image upload preview widget and replace it with another (newer) version of the image upload preview widget, all data will be shown, but if you were to add a simple textbox instead of it, it would not show the previous submissions any more.

To confirm, the data does not get removed if you remove the field, the data only gets removed if you remove the data directly from the submissions panel.

In case something does happen that you want to change (in future) you could always restore the jotform to the previous state by using the Form Revisions Tool.

    Best Regards,
    Ben

I have removed all of the old 'upload preview widgets' on all of the forms and a few users have tested their forms and appear to be working properly.

    Thanks again for your help
