Showing 'other' textbox if other option is selected in dropdown - without using conditions

But then do I have to manually create a text box to appear if that is the
    option selected?
In Forms Central, the 'Other' option is available on pretty much every
control. When selected, it automatically opens up a text box below that
control (for people to enter their appropriate response, AND the label of
the 'other' selection can be changed (so for instance, in the dropdown menu
it could be changed to 'Yes - please provide details').
This is definitely a feature I would like implemented in Jot form if
    possible!
Do I need to log a separate suggestion, or can you put this on the list on
    my behalf?

You can accomplish this by using oconditional logic and manually adding the textbox that will show/hide depending on the dropdown selection.

Please take a look at this demo form: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/43538034193959 (if you choose Other in the dropdown the textbox will show up) and let us know if this what you're trying to accomplish. If it is you can clone the form to your account if you want to.

    Thanks.

Did you take note of the rest of the email below this question?
Do I need to separately log it as a suggestion, seeing this is one area
where formscentral clearly beats jotform (so far the only one, but it
    really is a useful function)

    Hi Ben,

Do I need to separately log it as a suggestion

No we have already moved your query to a new thread so we will be raising your suggestion to our developers for this here.

Now even if I will raise this to our developers as a new feature it does not mean that this will be implemented soon or at all, but as soon as it does, we would post an update about it here.

Having said that I would like to give you an alternative that you might like to use instead: User Contributed Dropdown.

It will give your users the option of adding their own options as answers.

I would also like to mention that the sample given to you by my colleague shows how you can manually add this option in the mean time (if you do not want to use the widget mentioned above).

I would also like to mention other dropdown options that would not give you the 'other' option, but might help you achieve what you are looking for on your jotform.

    Dropdown with Paging

    Dynamic Dropdowns

    ddSlick dropdown

    Checkbox in Dropdown

    Visual Multi Select

    Grouped Values Dropdown

    Dual ListBox

    asmSelect

    Select All

    Best Regards,
