How to export fillable PDF and allow the data to be saved in the file - without submission

I created a form called Lighthouse Clocks 2.  Then I went to the PDF form creator homepage.

I choose Lighthouse Clocks 2 and opened the pdf file in Acrobat.  At the top, a message is highlighted in purple that says "Please fill out form.  If you are the form author, choose Distribute from the Forms panel in the Tools Pane on the right to send it to your recipients."  I filled out this PDF. and saved it as a new completed PDF. to my desktop.  So every time I open it, the information I filled out is saved in that document.

But when I tried sending the blank PDF in an email, the person who opened it had a message at the top that read "You cannot save data typed into this form.  Please print your form if you would like a copy for your records."

Is there any way for them to save a completed PDF document to their computer like I was able to when I first downloaded the form from the website?  Technically, we do not need this form to be online.  I am trying to make a file to send to a few specific companies...but they need to be able to save their specific information in a pdf. on their computer, not just printing a hard copy.

     Thank you,

    Audrey

The reason for this Audrey is that you have Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader, which will allow you to open and save / create PDF files (which is not free), while if they (or you) opened the same file with the Adobe Reader (notice the lack of Acrobat), then it would not be possible to save the data.

Example -Adobe Reader-  trying to type:

Example -Adobe Reader-  trying to save:

    Example -Adobe Acrobat- saving:

This is on the same system, the only difference is the program used.

So to have them save the file, they would need to have Adobe Acrobat application or some other that would allow them to save it, plain viewer will only allow them to print it.

Thank you for your help above.  I understand why it wasn't working now.

I don't know if this is something Jotform normally helps with...but now that we have our PDF working,

is there a way to send it, have someone fill in the form, and then have it lock once they enter information
.  So afterward, when they send their completed form out, no one else will be able to edit their information?
