How does the PDF link and the PDF that is being linked to work?

So I can put the PDF link in an autoresponder or thank you email (or do I need to use notifier) to the submitter and they will be able to print a PDF from the link.  I can do this instead of using a print button on the form?  Or do I need to set up a form field asking if they want to print and set up a condition to email them a PDF link upon submission (either through notifier, autoresponder or thank you?

Sorry for all these questions. learning a lot.

When it comes to emails you can:

    1. place it in email autoresponder template
        - great to send the link to people that filled out the form, allowing them the access to the PDF of the submission for as long as you keep the data in your account

    2. place it in the email notifier template
        - a great way to make sure that you can get the PDF you need and allow yourself to get it without even needing to log into your JotForm account.

This file can be downloaded and saved, printed, sent to some other department, etc.

You can use the link in one or both types of the email - depending only on what you would like to achieve.

I can do this instead of using a print button on the form?

Yes, you can allow people to print their data using that button, but the PDF is a great option for those that would like to print it out, but for example have printer plugged into a different PC or need to go to their friend, office, etc.

On the other hand, the print button is right there, so if a contract is being made, that is a nice option to have - that I personally would always include.

More can be seen about how to add the Print field here: Print Button on Forms

Or do I need to set up a form field asking if they want to print and set up a condition to email them a PDF link upon submission (either through notifier, autoresponder or thank you?

There is no need to set up anything other than the link in the email or print button - or even both. You could of course add such option and set the email to be sent with the PDF if they want it, or print the form if they choose so instead, but you can just 'click' to have it all without any conditions and similar :)

Of course if you are looking for any specific setup, do let us know and we would be happy to assist you with it.

    I realize I can't set up multiple auto-responder.

How do I link them to the contributer who is submitting--use conditions again?  For example:

    1.  Employee submits--send employee confirmation, thank you and PDF link, which will print out only their section? Pages 1 - 13

    2.  Supervisor submits -- send confirmation only to supervisor, thank you and PDF link, which will print out employee section plus supervisor section? Pages 1 - 14

    3.  Next level review submits --send confirmation only to next level review, thank you and PDF link, which will print out pages 1 - 15.

    4.  HR submits -- PDF link will print out all sections.  Is it possible to cc everyone in the chain or include them on the email.

I will be using form tags to designate as specific email addresses will change.

Your original follow-up question on this thread was about linking pdf's and the above is more about setting up conditional emails and autoresponders which is a different topic so I have moved that over here to a new topic.

We ask that you please ask unrelated questions as new threads to avoid confusion which also helps users such as yourself when searching for answers in our forum.
