How can I set the minimum number of characters on text form?

Hello,

I would like to have a minium number of 20 characters on my text box. If the reader does not put the at least the minimum number of singes he will not go further. Is it possible to to achieve and how?

At the present it is  not possible to put the minimum character limit and validate it using the form builder.

You can however download the full form source code and add the min="4" attribute to the input field you want to enforce the minimum characters in length.

Sorry I forgot to mention that the minimum limit is only available for textarea inputs and not the normal textfield inputs.

So you can use the textarea in the place for textfields where suitable, thank you for highlighting that part

At the moment if you set the minimum amount for the text area, the error code you get if you input less characters than required is wrong. It is bugged I think because it gives "-1" always at the end. Could you make it to not show any numbers at the end? It is important because I want to use it in my survey and the error code needs to show correctly.

What error code are you referring to? If you set a minimum number of characters that can be entered in a Text Area field, and if you enter less that the minimum, it will show this warning:

In addition to that there seems to be a bug in the system.

I have put a minium number of 5 signs on every text field available. Not I cannot pass the question 8 and 9 from the form I posted in my previous post. Could you please assist? The form needs to be working. The validation check doesn't allow me to go to the next page of the form even though I've choose 3 options and fill them with more than 5 signs.

Regarding the error issue now -1 sign always shows I do not know why at the end of my custom error message.

When I checked your jotform http://form.jotformeu.com/form/51784298268370 I was able to see the TextArea field minimum 5letter option working

testing the form shows it working

Can you please try testing again. Try it on different type of browsers also. I already on Chrome, FF, and IE11 and it was working.

You are right. I can see this as well.

It must be a fresh bug on the TextArea field.

Thank you, I will be waiting for the possible quick fix because tommorow mornining i need to send the survey link to our customer.

Last thing I've noticed in question 8 and 9 is that the error code about having less than 5 signs put shows itself just after you choose one of the options. You don't even get the chance to put one sign and the error is on and it shows the error in english not the updated one for the first time. Please look into it too! Thanks in advance for a quick fixes!
