    Hi there

I  have a form for registering new clients (Form1). The data is saved in a spreadsheet in Google Docs.

Now, I am creating a second form (Form2) with the purpose of tracking activities with the different clients registered in Form1. The first field of Form2 is the client name and I want a dropdown list against the existing clients in Form1. How can I do that?

    Thanks for your help

    Hi Gema,

If you want to import the data to an another form as a dropdown option list, unfortunately, it is not possible. The imported data can only use and list on submissions.

However, you can import the data from spradsheet with using the link http://import.jotform.io/. Specific field's data can match with the new field in another form, but as I mentioned earlier, those data will be stored in submission.

From the link below, you can see the steps in detail to complete this operation.

Thanks Mert. I just want to make sure that in Form2 I'm tracking activities for clients who are already registered in Form1. But it seems that it's not possible... Any workaround for that? Basically, from my second form I want to search clients already registered in my Google spreadsheet of clients via my first form.

    Hi again,

This suggestion doesn't cover your request completely, but you can try to link form1's and form2's submissions into a one Google spreadsheet file. With that way, you can search data from form1 on the same spreadsheet.

To do that, use Zapier to connect multiple forms to a single spreadsheet: https://zapier.com/zapbook/jotform/google-docs/3379/add-jotform-submission-to-google-docs-row/.

I hope this one satisfy your needs. If you need extra help, please let us know.

    Thanks.
