Sending mail to a hidden Email address

I'd like to offer the user a drop down list of member names, but I don't want them to be able to see the email address behind it.

The goal is to allow someone (a member) to make a donation in another member's honor and have an acknowledgement sent to that other member; but I can't allow the donor to see the other person's E-mail address; only their name can be visible.

    Thanks,

    David

    Hi.

You can use conditions for sending an email for specific email address. By the way, their email address will not be visible.

Here is how to do this:

    1) Click on Emails icon.

    2) Choose Send an Email After Submission.

    3) Make the arrangement as you see below.

Thank you, but I have 1 or 2 hundred Name/E-mail combinations.

I will also need to be able to periodically update (or replace) my list with an updated list. Basically it's my membership list. I can get the data into a csv file format.

I understand how to use conditions but I don't think it'll be workable for this many names, now would it be easily updateable.

    Hi David,

That is very simple. Add the names in the dropdown and add the email address as the calculation values.

    Add an email address field

Add a single conditional logic to forward the calculations values to the email field once a dropdown is filled.

Note: Before adding the dropdown field in the equation, check first he "Add field to equation as text by default" option.

Here's an example form: https://form.jotform.com/52834503814959. Note that the email field can be hidden.

You can then simply add an autoresponder email (https://www.jotform.com/help/26-Creating-a-Form-Autoresponder) and select the email field as the recipient.

If you will update the list, you will only update the dropdown options and the calculation values.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks

THAT is exactly what I was looking for.
Now my only problem is that the E-mail doesn’t appear to be sent.
I’m sure it’s something dumb, but I just don’t see it yet.
    The form I’m using is:
    Clone of Online Donations Form
    The relevant fields are :
    Email a note to
    Please send an acknowledgement…
    Thanks,
    David

I am happy to hear that you solved your issue. Your email address, is NOT in

I also checked your mail logs.

Please try to set your form notifications "Sender Email" to noreply@jotform.com.

In addition to that, to prevent getting you email address back to the amazon suppression list, kindly add the following IP addresses to your mail server's whitelist

    https://www.jotform.com/help/145-Whitelisting-JotMails-IP-Addresses.

    https://www.jotform.com/help/208-How-to-setup-email-alerts-to-prevent-email-bouncing-related-issues.

Could you please check your spam, trash and bulk folders? If you find them there, please mark them as not spam in order to not go into the folder any more.

Lastly, you are currently using a custom sender email address through verification method. If this is not working to some of your forms, I would suggest using our SMTP method(s):

    I hope that works.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
    I believe I found the solution…
Needed to change the Preferences to “Don’t Clear” hidden fields.
That is what stopped email from going to the field when it was hidden.
I’m sure there must be a reason why I would want to clear the value of a conditionally hidden field
but I don’t know what that would be. Why would I ever want to clear the value of the hidden field?
Thank you again, I think this will be awesome‼
