[Conditions Wizard] Hard to identify fields without labels

the problem is the new conditions wizard identifies field by their auto-created ID rather than the easy customizable names we chose for them. the old wizard was much more visual which made it quick and easy. i can only figure out what field to choose based on the placement in the form. it was so much easier with the old wizard. why change it? i hope you don't also change the calculation wizard. why fix what's not broken?

actually, I went back to the old form based on another user's link. while i still find the old wizards much more visual and easier to use, the "rules" still only allow you to choose a field based on ID rather than the custom name. as mentioned, this is clumsy as i have to keep checking the form to see what ID refers to what field. please change that to the custom field tag rather than the ID. and i still agree the the old wizard is much better than the new one.

Thank you for your feedback.=) I've sen't your post to our developers. As I was mentioned before If you can give feedback why you have difficulty about conditions, they will consider your criticism to use  quickly and easily .

the "rules" still only allow you to choose a field based on ID rather than the custom name. as mentioned, this is clumsy as i have to keep checking the form to see what ID refers to what field.

You don't need to write the ID of your field you can still create your conditions with their names. The ID is your additional option.

    Here is how it works:

you also removed the greater/lesser functions from the conditions wizard. why????

This function is still available. You can use that function for numeric values or for Date & time values like the old way.

New response receivedI will check that out. For some reason, it didn’t/doesn’t show me my field names when I add a rule.
But in the meantime, can you please tell me how you made those awesome screenshots? Is that a gif? Not even a video file. I really need to know how you did that. It’s amazing! spectacular.

New response receivedSo I reviewed this again and you are not correct. They are not using the custom field name, but just the type of field. If it’s a widget or calculation field it just says widget (id123) or calculation field (id132) instead of listing fields by the custom names we have provided them in the field properties window. This makes it very difficult to put together complex forms since I can’t easily tell what all the id’s are referring to.

As far as I can see, we use a field label value in our new conditions wizard, so it is usually easy to identify a field in question.

Although, we can see an issue when there are no labels on the fields. I have attached a ticket to this thread to see if we can use field {tags} or improve this in some other way.

New response receivedYes, thank you – I see from the screenshot, you’ve found exactly where I am having issues. When there’s a lot of fields and conditions, it can get a bit confusing without those field tags there.

New response receivedIs there a way on the second page of this form:
    https://form.jotform.com/53513339446154
... to have alternating color backgrounds between the form separators? Like light gray, white, light gray, white? There’s a lot of info and it can get confusing. Also I wish the calculation fields could have 0 horizontal padding, and the text fields (loose prints, negatives, slides...) on that same page less vertical padding, without affecting other sections of the form that require some amount of padding. It’s too spread out.

Since your new request is different from the original, please create a new thread describing what you are looking for.  If possible create a single thread for each issue to avoid confusion.
