Hi,

You can insert the selected option of a drop down in a text box, but only if you are using the normal drop down field as well as the normal text box field  : 

You can doing it using conditions : http://www.jotform.com/help/286-How-to-Populate-Field-with-a-Value-from-another-Field 

But you can not send values to a Narrative Fields widget nor to the Configurable List Widget.
