How does a form interact with a Google Sheets Integration?

I'm curious what the dynamics are of a Google Sheets integration.

For example, what happens if I make some changes to my form after submissions have already come through? Like, if I change the field name slightly? Will the integration still work for the past submissions as well as the future submissions?

Do you know what would happen to any additional columns that might be added at the end? Will those new columns stay there or will it revert every time a new submission comes in? I'm hoping that I can use this as a way to take some notes on each submission.

What happens if I hide some of the columns that I don't care about like IP address? Will they stay hidden, or will it revert every time a new submission comes in?

Thank you so much for your help.

    Hi,

If you make changes to the form like adding new fields, you will have to reintegrate the form with spreadsheet again.

Changing the field name will also change the field name in the spreadsheet. The past submissions will not be affected and will still appear in the appropriate field.

If you hide a field in the form, the field will still appear in the google spreadsheet.
