Some values are missing after submit
Asked by perra74 on March 05, 2012 at 02:54 PMPage URL:Hi,
I have a simple form and notice that sometimes a filled in numbers doesn´t get registred when the form is submitted. It seems to be one of the first nine fields that doesn´t always save the entered value. Is that a known bug? It doesn´t show in the respons mail or in the spread sheet.BR

Answered by jcm0731 on March 05, 2012 at 05:41 PMHi perra74,
Although I don't understand much the content of your form (due to language barrier).
i'll take my shot to assist you.I make a test of your form, and it did work fine on my end though.
Specifically on the first 9 fields you mentioned.
Please see the screens I made both on the email response and on the pdf file.
You mentioned that this missing filled numbers does happen 'sometimes', meaning not 'always' and that is understandable. as an example, it did not happen on my end but it does on your end.
there can be several factors that can affect this, i.e. browser settings, internet, and probably on the OS side.We can help you better though if you can still observe a little more, and try to pinpoint the exact sequence when sometimes missing filled numbers occur during submit.
Please check back if you have further information that can help both of us resolve the concern.
I will also check more on it (i.e. use different OS, browser, or another computer)

Answered by perra74 on March 06, 2012 at 02:32 AMHi!
Thanks for responding!
I can show you an example from yesterday when a user submitted a form.
I don´t know what browser but I have had the problem with latest Chrome and latest IE. I can understand that it´s hard to investigate when it´s not occuring all the time. The first text field is missing completley and as I understand it should be there even if no value are entered.
See attached picture:
As you can see the field "Vuxen i dubbelrum (från 18 år) - 1000 kr" is missing.

Answered by jcm0731 on March 06, 2012 at 02:41 AMHi perra74,
Thank you for getting back for this.
At least with this strategy we will be able to narrow this down to the point we get it fixed.I would like to ask for some more time though, I will try it on different version of browsers.
By the way, would you happen to capture the version of browser used on this particular form you gave on the screenshot? So I can start right away on that version.regards,

Firefox 10All tests were sucessful and I hope it will work out.
One question: is it possible to get the page to jump to the top when the Thank You message is shown?

Answered by perra74 on March 13, 2012 at 04:22 PMThank´s for the tip.
Look at the pic below. The values are submitted and if I edit the sent in form I see them as greyed out there but not in the spred sheet.
Maybe a clue of what´s happening...?

Answered by Mike_T on March 13, 2012 at 05:27 PMLet me please explain this, grayed out "2" digit is not a value, but it is your Hint Example for mentioned field(s). In other words, your customer did not put "2" there, these fields were left blank (default "0" value deleted).

You may set Required option for these fields, so that your form will not accept blank fields.
Please feel free to contact us if you need any further assistance.

Answered by jcm0731 on March 13, 2012 at 05:38 PM@perra74,
I tested it again on my end. And everything work out as intended.
Can you try testing the Form first in the JotForm Builder? (not in the website where you deployed it). See if it will have the same result.
And as my colleague Mike_T also pointed out, maybe this could be just the case.

Answered by perra74 on March 15, 2012 at 04:53 AMHi,
I understand your explanation but in this case it´s not correct.I did type in the numbers for the first three fields and the second one did get greyed out.
I have made all first fields required option and as a backup I can always see the result when I edit an reply. -

Answered by jcm0731 on March 15, 2012 at 05:24 AMHi perra74,
I just noticed now, the difference between our My Form Submission view.
If you look at the 2 screen below, I pointed the difference with a Red arrows.
Did this issue happens only in your IE9 browser? According to your previous message you already had made this work using different browser. Looking at your screen below, one likely cause for this is when JavaScript is disabled on the browser. Can you please verify as well if JavaScript is enabled? Thanks.
