  • *BECOME A COLLEGE MENTOR!*
College Mentors work one-on-one with high school students in the Ascend program to support them in achieving their college and post-graduation goals. Mentors meet bi-weekly with their mentees—either in person or via Zoom—to check in, provide encouragement, and help them stay on track. Support may include researching colleges and careers, preparing applications and essays, exploring gap year options, and finding scholarships.

Mentors are not expected to be experts in college or career planning, nor are they responsible for student outcomes. Instead, they serve as supportive guides—offering perspective, accountability, and encouragement as students navigate their next steps after high school.
