• COMEDY IN DANCE FESTIVAL

  • Triskelion Arts is seeking work under 12 minutes that tickles a varied audience's collective funny bone, for the new Comedy in Dance Festival. The festival will run May 12-16 and 19-23, 2010 and will be headlined by a new, long work by Abby Bender Schmantze Theatre. Each evening’s program will consist of three to six works by various choreographers, and each selected piece will be presented one to four times throughout the festival, at the discretion of Triskelion Arts staff. In addition to stand-alone pieces, excerpts of longer works as well as very short works are encouraged to apply. All applications will be reviewed, and pieces will be chosen on the basis of quality of work and appropriateness for the event. All festival participants will be alloted a tech time on one of the following dates: May 8, 11, 15, 16, 17 or 18, 2010.

  • To submit a piece for Comedy in Dance, please fill out the form below completely, no later than March 26, 2010. You may be contacted for further information.   • Please tell us about your past performance history. Please include such things as past festivals and productions in which your work has been included, and any performances you have planned for the future.
  • Please describe in detail the piece. Include a summary of the piece, length, technical needs, number of performers, music credits, props or set pieces used, and costume description and other pertinent information. Please note that pieces that are dance-based and between 3-12 minutes in length will be given priority, however, all pieces and lengths will be considered.
  • In the space below, please indicate any special needs for your piece, including such things as projection, special lighting, special effects, pre-show setup, post-show breakdown, or any other needs.
