TO THE APPLICANT
The following apply to all new members if their application is accepted:
1)
All members chosen for the Greene County Fire Investigation Team must be
an active, Class A member of a Firematic Service in Greene County, NY. Member must be 18 years of age at time of joining.
If for any reason your membership lapses, you will not be able to continue your membership with GCFIT.
2)
Mandatory background check will be done by Greene County Sheriffs Office.
3)
New members will be placed on a 18 month probation period and must meet the following requirements listed below or be dropped from the rolls:
a.
Required training and qualifications include FBAA, within a year of joining, Principles of Fire Investigation and/or C&O.
b.
Letter of approval by the applicant Fire Co./Dept. Chief.
4)
Applicants shall bring a resume and copies of State Fire certificates to
interview.
5)
Applicants shall be given consideration based on the following criteria:
a.
Availability
b.
Personal character and reputation
c.
Willingness to learn and train
d.
Willingness to travel anywhere within the boundaries of Greene
County
