Call for presentation proposals
The Idaho Council of Teachers of English and the Idaho Council of the International Reading Association invite you to participate as a speaker at the 2011 annual conference October 6, 2011 at West Junior High in Boise, ID.
Teachers from all levels (elementary, middle school, high school, and collegiate) are encouraged to present.
Proposals must be received by September 16, 2011.
The number of accepted proposals will be determined by the number of rooms and time slots available for presentations Thursday morning and afternoon.
We encourage a variety of proposals and would like to cover as many pertinent topics as we can in a one day period.
Each person submitting a proposal will be notified in September 2011 of the status of that proposal
Creative, innovative presentations that involve the audience are recommended and should be limited to 50 minutes.
Teachers, professors, instructors, and administrators are invited to submit proposals including, but not limited to, these areas: Elementary/Middle School/High School language arts and reading; teaching methods; Community college or university teaching methods; Literary analysis; Writing tips; Using language arts standards in the classroom; Bridging the gap between grade levels; Censorship; Reading strategies; Multimedia in the classroom; Genre-based lessons; Specific author or literature presentation;
Six plus traits of writing; ISAT preparation; Dual-enrollment classes; AP/Honors classes; Technology in the language arts classroom
Miscellaneous:
*Presenters receive a $5 discount on conference registration fees (given at conference check-in).
*Presenters will not be paid for their presentations or reimbursed for travel expenses.
