In Support of St Luke Hospice at Norton Nurseries
To all members of Sheffield City Council
I strongly believe that Norton Nurseries is the best possible site for the relocation of St Luke’s Hospice, to create the world class hospice facility that the people of Sheffield deserve.
Recently the Charity Commission, reiterated in a meeting in Sheffield of all interested parties and through a media statement and confirmed the Commission has no objection to the trustees of St Luke’s Hospice making an application to the Council, in its role as trustee of the land.
The site is undoubtedly the best option for all the people of Sheffield – it fits more of the criteria for an ideal hospice location than any other site in the city. It would enable the size of Graves Park to be increased by landscaping up to two thirds of the Norton Nurseries site and opening it up for public access for the people of Sheffield to enjoy, as well as patients and their families, something that is not currently possible.
Therefore I urge you, as the trustees of the land to carefully consider their proposals and support the relocation.
