  • Collaborations in Dance

  • DEADLINE: July 15, 2010

  • The Collaborations in Dance Festival will run from September 17-18 and 24-26, 2010. Triskelion Arts is looking for premiere movement-based work that has a strong element of collaboration between artists working in dance, film, music, theater, etc. ALL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED, and will be chosen on the basis of quality of work, nature of the collaboration, and appropriateness for the event. Participants in the festival will be presented on one or more evenings between September 17-18 and 24-26. Participants will be allotted "tech" time on Sept 15, 16, or on the date of performance, and will be provided with a lighting design from Triskelion Arts' resident Lighting Designer using Triskelion's reperatory lighting plot.

  • To submit a piece for Collaborations in Dance, please fill out the form below completely, no later than July 15, 2010. You may be contacted for further information. Participation in the festival will be announced no later than August 1, 2010. For more information, please contact info@triskelionarts.org.

  • Please provide the information requested below

  • 1. Please tell us about your past performance history. Please include such things as past festivals and productions in which your work has been included, and any performances you have planned for the future.   Please note whether or not the proposed piece has been performed previously, and whether you plan on presenting it prior to or after the Collaborations in Dance Festival.

  • 2. Please describe in detail the piece you would like to submit.  Please note that pieces between 5 and 30 minutes are preferred, but all submissions will be considered.

  • 3. Please describe the nature of your collaboration, if applicable. Collaborations may be between 2 or more choreographers, directors, visual artists, musicians, etc. Priority will be given to artists working on collaborative pieces that have yet to be presented in New York City, and collaborations that include non-movement based media in addition to dance, however all submissions will be considered.

  • 4. In the space below, please indicate any special needs for your piece.  Include such things as projection, special lighting, special effects, live music, props, set pieces, pre-show setup, post-show breakdown, or any other needs.

  • 5. In the space below, please indicate if you have any conflicts with any of the performance or tech dates

  • 6. please provide a URL to a sample of your work. If none exists, please send a sample on DVD or VHS to Triskelion Arts, 118 North 11th Street, 3rd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11211

  • Please describe how the link is related to the work being proposed.

  • ***Please note that the theater ceiling is 12' high, with 10' clearance. Silence cannot be guaranteed for performances. Rigging from the lighting grid or anywhere in the theater is prohibited.     Artists chosen to participate in the Collaborations in Dance program will not be compensated, nor will artists be charged for to participate in the program
