Please submit your suggestions here. (Use carriage returns.) : I went to presentation on stopping and addressing teenage prostitution and the speaker was phenomenal. Her name is Nola Brantley and she runs a program called MISSSEY, and her website is MISSSEY.org. She is energetic, at the fore front of this issue and a survivor as well. She will bring some startling insights about this issue.

The other speaker I would suggest is myself, as I am a therapis, educator and researcher on adolescent girl issues, trauma, abuse, and would be able to offer some very unique and engaging approaches to how law enforcement, mental health facilities can start to really work together to forge an alliance so that our girls are protected. My name is Dr.Lakita Long and I am the founder of GirlTalk a program of non-profit public charity, and can be reached at 925-848-9496 or drlakitagirltalk@aol.com.

Please submit your suggestions here. (Use carriage returns.) : Human Trafficking is an international issue. It is rapidly spreading in asian
countries. Comparative study of anti human trafficking laws of differnt countries is necessary to bring up effective guidelines for combating this problem. Many asian girls are trafficked for immoral trade of prostitution. In germany prostitution is legalised. In india prostitution per se is not an offence . In gulf countries the scene is different. Pakistan, nepal, bangladesh, India, russia are are some of the biggest source stations and the destination is usa. All these countries have different set of laws. Speakers expert in anti human traffic
king laws should come togather for exchanging ideas.

Please submit your suggestions here. (Use carriage returns.) : On Nov 2 I went to El Paso, TX for a product demonstration & review session on outreach materials for victims of sexual assault, it was very interesting, with focus on latina/latino victims. Laura Zarate from Arte Sana was the presenter, she is awesome, I would like to see if the coalition would be interested in inviting her to present at our next conference. She is very active in training the trainer on cultural issues latinas face in dealing with sexual assault, may prove to be a great session at the conference.
Please submit your suggestions here. (Use carriage returns.) : I\'ve heard Vincent Webb report on their findings, and it could be interesting. Others from that same study are also reporting findings, one is Amy Farrell, who was one of the principal investigators on the study out of Northeastern University (although Dr. Webb is closer). An executive summary of this DOJ report is at: http://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/nij/grants/225202.pdf.

Michael Shively is also doing work on demand reduction around the sex trade, and is a very interesting speaker. His findings are from a national study reviewing what cities/counties are doing to reduce demand for paid sex. Some info on the study is at: http://www.abtassociates.com/Page.cfm?PageID=12605&OWID=2109769069&CSB=1
Has someone reviewed the findings and could provide a quick summary? This might better help us to see about this possibility for the conference. It sounds like it could be a fantastic topic.
I would recommend inviting Dr. Vincent Webb to present the
study by Sam Houston University, Huntsville, Tx, regarding
Understanding and Improving State and Local Law
Enforcement Responses to Human Trafficking.
.
Their primary research questions in the study were:

1. What are the perceptions of trafficking held by local law
enforcement and the what steps have agencies taken to
prepare to identify and investigate trafficking cases?

2. How often does law enforcement identify and investigate
     cases of human trafficking?

3. Are there community or organizational factors that predict
police identification of human trafficking cases?

4. What are the characteristics of those cases investigated
      by law enforcement?

5. What are the lessons learned and challenges of
identifying, investigating and prosecuting cases of
     human trafficking cases?
