The Hirer will be the responsible person for all Health and Safety matters relating to an event and must be present at the event to deal with any Health and Safety matters that may occur.
Ensure you are aware of and suitably manage the flammability of any item, utensil or piece of equipment introduced into the facility by the hirer.
Be sure that you know: 1. The location of the fire alarms. 2. The location of fire extinguishers. 3. The fire evacuation route. 4. The assembly point for the building – which is at Cornerstone Church on the corner.
THE FIRE ALARM IS EXTREMELY SENSITIVE AND CAN BE SET OFF EASILY BY THE DIESEL HEATERS OR COOKING IN THE KITCHEN.
If you believe this is the case please evacuate the building and one of our representatives will be down as soon as possible to reset the alarm and let you back into the building. We reserve the right to pass on any charges relating to a fire brigade callout where you have failed to follow procedure, or have been negligent or contributed to the event occurring.
If you find a fire: 1. RAISE THE ALARM IMMEDIATELY and Call 111 or ensure that someone else does. 2. When evacuation of the building starts, QUICKLY check the toilet areas to ensure that everyone has left. 3. Having checked the area go to the Assembly Point (XO Church) and await the arrival of the Fire Brigade. 4. Report to the Fire Brigade immediately they arrive if you think there is anyone left in the building. 5. Do not re-enter the building until told to do so by the Fire Brigade.
