  • Are you the patient?*
  • Is the issue causing pain?*
  • What best describes your issue?*
  • If the issue is not causing pain, it is generally not considered an orthodontic emergency. For this reason, the best thing to do is to allow us to help you resolve the issue during normal business hours.

  • Indicate below:*
  • Possible Solutions for Shifted/Poking Wire:

    1. Cover the poking wire with orthodontic wax.

    2. Cover the poking wire with sugar free gum (sticks better than orthodontic wax).

    3. Use disinfected tweezers to adjust the wire back to a more comfortable position.

    4. Use disinfected nail clippers or wire clippers to clip the wire on the side, and pull out the portion that is poking.
  • Possible Solutions for an Appliance that is Loose or Has Come Out

    1. If the appliance is loose on one side only, attempt to replace the loose band back around the tooth and take care not to chew on the side that is loose.

    2. If the appliance is completely out, gently remove it with your fingers, and place it in a Zip-loc bag.
