    Application Deadline: June 1, 2023
  • “Whether I am going to be an actor or not, is yet to be seen. What I do know is that the only way I will be happy with my career is if it is closely connected to the Theater. Acting is the only thing I have ever had a real passion for in my life.”

  • Jared P. Nathan was an active student with Peacock Players from 1997 to 2003, before leaving to attend Walnut Hill School for the Arts, and later, The Julliard School. During his time with Peacock Players he played a multitude of roles in musical and non-musical theatre and was a founding member of Peacock Players’ improv comedy troupe (then called Organized Chaos). Additionally, as a founding member of the original Peacock Players Young Company, he followed the rigorous summer schedule of performing, building and painting scenery, hanging lights, running crew, and mentoring students at Summer Theatre Camp. After graduation, Jared returned each summer to teach at Summer Theatre Camp. His final performance on Mainstage in 2006 brought him back together with his fellow alumni, when Jared played the role of Mr. Black in Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party. Jared will always be an inspiring example of the very best of who and what our students are. Jared is sorely missed, talked about often, and remembered fondly. Peacock Players, in partnership with Dr. Jeff Nathan and Mrs. June Nathan, are deeply honored to be able to offer this scholarship in the name of our dear friend, Jared Nathan.
