The Directory Members Submissions Logo
  • How this works:

The form should take between 5-10 minutes depending on how in depth you want to be... you can always add and update your details at a later time! Questions marked with a * are required information.

We will then forward any casting submissions which match your information and you will have all the information you need to contact the client directly!

All casting/job briefs are reviewed by a team of community members.

    A few things:

    • We will not be acting as an agent at this stage
    • Your information will remain confidential (only The Executive Team at The People of Cabaret will have direct access to The Directory)
    • You may remove your entry at any time by emailing "REMOVE" to thedirectory@thepeopleofcabaret.com

Some people have reported issues when filling out this form on a mobile. Whilst this form should generally be mobile friendly, it may be better to fill this in on a laptop.

So let's get you signed up!

  • Who is a Person of Colour?

  • We use the term “people of colour” as a unifying term that recognises the experiences of racism, discrimination and systemic barriers that a diverse group of different backgrounds and cultures face. We also recognise and hope to never erase the full diversity of these groups - that although we have many commonalities in our experiences, there are also many differences, nuances, complexities and layers to our identities and our lived experiences.
As useful further reading we suggest the following two recent resources as a starting point:

The collective Creatives of Colour uses the following working definition: “We are using the term ‘people of colour’ as a term of solidarity to include a spectrum of racialized identities and lived experiences, including people of African, Asian, Latinx, Middle Eastern, Caribbean, Pasifika descent as well as First Peoples. However, we do not wish to erase the unique struggle for sovereignty by First Peoples. Creatives of Colour will always align ourselves with the struggles of First Peoples. We also want to acknowledge the distinct lived experiences of Black people.” - Creatives of Colour

Some people do not identify with this term - the following think piece demonstrates some of the complexities in the ongoing discourse about the term: "So while we grapple for an appropriate "team name", I wonder if it is even possible to land on a one-size-fits all term we can all agree on, when at the core of it, our common trait is that throughout history, we have been designated as "other" by white colonists, explorers, traders, settlers and conquerors?” - Who identifies as a person of colour in Australia? • Your agent

All correspondence will be shared directly to you. This is to make sure the opportunities shared with The Directory remain with IBPOC people. However, we do encourage that you make your agent or manager aware of any work that you may submit for or be made aware of through The Directory. We do not work as an agent or second agent and do not wish to take commission away from you or your management.
