  • Applying for Holidays/Leave

  • As hairdressing and barbering is a trade course, our training calendar runs throughout the year (it does not follow the academic calendar like other courses).

According to your offer letter, you are given a set amount of weeks for holidays, which also includes the December break where College is closed (about 4-5 weeks).

If you would like to put in additional leave, you are to inform your head trainer at least 2 weeks in advance to seek approval. The leave that you put in will be deducted from the set amount as stated in your Offer Letter.

If you are unsure about the holidays/leave you have left, please speak to your head trainer or Jean from the Admin team.

  • Course Work Information

  • Depending on whether you are studying Hairdressing/Barbering, there are 26 - 28 units in your training. Hairdressing students have a duration of 1.5 years and Barbering students have a duration of 1 year to complete their course.

Hairdressing and Barbering is a very intensive course that is packed with both theory work and practical work. Each unit comes with theory books, assessment packs and sometimes additional assignments.

Smaller units can take 1 - 2 weeks to complete, but bigger units like cutting and colour units can take up to 1 month to 2 months.

We want to ensure that you are mindful of this so that you can maintain your course progress. Our trainers will always keep track of your progress so that we can ensure that you are completing your course on time.

However, as this course is highly dependent on your pace, we hope for your enthusiasm and cooperation. Please consult our trainers if you ever feel like you need assistance and guidance in your training.
