    Name of the program: Let's Dance!

    Program Description

    Let’s Dance is a free dance workshop exploring the basic fundamentals of South-African Beats and Capoeira!

    Get ready to move your body! During this program, Mafa Dance Village (@mafadancevillage.ca) Capoeira Bamba Toronto, (@bambatoronto) will teach participants the basic fundamentals of South African Beats and Capoeira!

    These sessions will be fun, interactive, and high-energy as you'll learn some new moves, kicks, and escapes to music.
    Come prepared to have fun, while learning the arts of South-African Beats and Capoeira!

    While these workshops are open to all, some movements in the Capoeira workshop may be challenging to those with limited mobility. This program is for ALL ages.

    MEET THE ARTISTS!

    About Mafa Dance Village 
    Movement poet trained in folk forms from the Regions of African tradition, African contemporary, and Western-Contemporary. Mafa Dance Village is influenced by an understanding of dance as an accumulation of memory and the history of my culture. Dance is an invisible evolution that becomes visible through movement, music, and singing.

    About Capoeira Bamba
    Capoeira Bamba is Toronto's 7X award winning Capoeira School. Capoeira is an Afro Brazilian Martial Art that incorporates Martial Arts, Acrobatics, Music, Dance and Culture all in one! From Kicks to Flips, this Martial Art has it all!
    Capoeira Bamba takes great pride in educating their community about the Afro-Brazilian culture and Martial Art. They are Toronto's only full time Capoeira Academy hosting classes for Minis, Kids and Adults of all ages. We are also a performance team, performing Capoeira, and other Afro-Brazilian cultural dances for audiences and events of all sizes all over the GTA.

    As a participant of North York Arts programming and events, we use your photographs and video for documentation and promotional purposes. We are seeking your permission for a photo or video of you to be taken and used for publication, advertisement, social media channels, audio-visual presentations and/or web pages. These photos and videos are exclusively for public information and the promotion of North York Arts and its partner organizations.

    I give North York Arts permission to take and use video or photos for inclusion in public information and promotional material produced by North York Arts. I give permission for my image to be taken by professional media representatives to be published as news of program coverage, and waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto.
