Scholarship Nomination Application. The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the legacy of our ancestors by consistently paying it forward to our next generation. Each winner (Mr. and Miss Juneteenth) will receive an individual scholarship provided by Juneteenth GVL and our generous donors. Deadline: May 31st
Minimum Age Requirement 17
Nominees must be a senior or recent grad of an Upstate High School and/or in 1st year of a University. The nominee must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher to be considered. We invite scholarship applicants to apply by submitting a 500-word essay that explores the significance of Juneteenth, the ongoing issues African Americans face today, and potential solutions to address these challenges.

If your application is approved, you become a finalist. Finalist will be invited to attend future empoerment session that will help proior to the gala. You will also receive an exclusive invite to attend our Juneteenth GVL Gala for recognition on Friday, June 13th, at 7 pm. This invite will provide more pertinent details about the accommodations of this event for you and your guests. Dinner and entertainment will be provided. This is a semi-formal red-carpet event. Mr. & Miss. Juneteenth winners will receive a scholarship & plaque. Nominees will receive a plaque for recognition. You must be present to win. Winners will be presented at the Juneteenth GVL Gala; your attendance is required.
