Legacy Of Faith
Advisory Council
Member Job Description
Qualifications: Advisory Council members, by their commitment to the Roman Catholic Church and by virtue of their experience and character, are able to assist in establishing policy for and achieving the objectives of the corporation. Advisory Council members shall be selected for their leadership and knowledge of the religious, educational, charitable, cultural, and civic aspects of their communities as well as the Diocese of Marquette as a whole.
Purpose of the Advisory Council: The Legacy of Faith Advisory Council is formed by the Bishop of the Diocese of Marquette as a consultative body to assist the Upper Peninsula Catholic Foundation (UPCF) in distributing funds to be used in support of the Catholic schools, faith formation, Catholic Social Services, and the Bishop’s targeted objectives all within the Diocese of Marquette. The Council assists the Bishop in aligning expenditures in each of the designated areas with the most pressing needs of the Diocese, with due consideration given to future growth of the Legacy of Faith and financial stability of the supported entities. The Council shall preserve and foster the Catholic faith by honoring Catholics whose lifetime dedication and service to the Church exemplifies an ideal of Catholic faith in the Upper Peninsula. The Council shall encourage endowed gifts in support of the Diocese of Marquette through the Bishop’s Ambassador Program or other stewardship programs.
Meetings: The Legacy of Faith Advisory Council currently meets twice each year in September and March.
