  • Internship Opportunities at Floyd Valley Healthcare

Please review and complete the following form.
  • As a progressive health care partner, Floyd Valley Healthcare (FVH) provides internship opportunities for post-secondary students.

Paid internships are considered for students who are currently enrolled in a class requiring an internship and who are pursuing a degree/certification for a profession that is identified by FVH as competitive and short-supply recruitment. Unpaid internships are considered for students who are pursuing a degree/certification for a profession that is not identified as such.

    Internship Guidelines

    1. All interns must be currently enrolled in a school, program, and/or course of a field related to FVH's business and/or operations.
    2. An affiliation agreement with FVH and the College/University must be established.
    3. Paid interns will receive hourly compensation for intern hours performed at FVH.
    4. Paid and unpaid interns are to be identified to patients as interns.
    5. Paid and unpaid interns are required to adhere to FVH policies and procedures.
    6. Paid interns are held to and protected by all applicable state and federal regulations and guidelines.
    7. Paid and unpaid interns who are on the FVH campus for five or more hours per week must complete a baseline Tuberculosis (TB) screening. Baseline TB screening consists of two components: (1) assessing for current symptoms of active TB disease and (2) testing using the two-step Tuberculin skin tests (TST) procedure or a single IGRA to screen for infection with M. tuberculosis. If intern has a previous TST or IGRA, they should submit documentation of previous test, completed treatment, and most recent chest x-ray if applicable.
    8. Paid and unpaid interns must submit proof of flu (influenza) vaccination if the internship occurs between November 1 and March 31. Interns who have not received the flu vaccine must wear a procedure mask from November 1 through March 31.

You will be expected to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality during and after your internship. Failure to maintain confidentiality can result in immediate termination of your internship and may result in civil or criminal penalties.
