Thank you for your interest in receiving no-cost legal counseling through the Patsy T. Mink Center for Business & Leadership (MCBL) in partnership with the Business Law Corps (BLC). Appointments are on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Each confidential consultation is 30 minutes and conducted remotely by phone.
During your session, a licensed attorney will provide general legal guidance on a specific business legal topic. To make the most of your appointment, please limit your discussion to one primary topic or up to three closely related questions. These consultations are intended to provide guidance—not to review or draft legal documents, provide ongoing legal representation, or offer legal advice outside the BLC’s areas of practice.
BLC attorneys are experienced corporate lawyers and can assist with topics such as:
- Choice of entity
- Business crisis
- For-profit corporations
- Limited liability companies (LLCs)
- Partnerships
If your questions fall outside these areas, the attorney will do their best to provide guidance or refer you to other appropriate resources. This service is available to Hawaiʻi-based businesses only.
Please come prepared with your priority questions and be ready to take notes during your appointment. You are welcome to schedule additional sessions for different topics as needed; however, they attorneys are on a rotating schedule, so you may not meet with the same attorney each time.
By participating in these services, you agree to provide feedback through periodic surveys. Your input helps MCBL providing valuable resources and support to Hawaiʻi’s small business community.
