Spring Break Jump Start Your Job Search Registration

  • Jump Start Your Job Search: Spring Break Learning Session

    Use your spring break to build job search skills and get ready to apply with confidence. Jump Start Your Job Search is designed for youth and young adults ages 14–21 who want to understand key job search topics. Each session is active, supportive, and designed so participants can start where they are. No previous job experience required!

  • All 2025 workshops will be hosted at Colorado Youth Outdoors (4927 County Rd 36, Fort Collins, CO 80528) in Richardson Hall.

  • Each 2-hour session includes a short welcome and breakout stations. Youth choose the station that fits their experience level and work with staff support throughout.

    During the session, attendees will gain knowledge in the following 3 focus areas to strengthen their job search:

    Job Search & Applications 101

    Learn the basics of a successful job search and how to properly fill out a job application. Identify the different tools & skills needed to be successful in your job search and participate in completing a job search application with guidance on how to answer questions to get invited in for an interview. 

    *Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet to support actual work on resume during the workshop.


    Foundations for Employment Success

    Set yourself up for success in your job search by definining your own individual skills, strengths, and goals to develop your "personal brand". You will walk away understanding how to implement your unique brand into each aspect of the job search process and learn how to be successful on the job!

    Resume Building

    Learn to create a resume that will attract employers even if you have no previous work experience.Participants will learn the importance of customizing their resume and how to navigate Applicant Tracking Systems (online screening tools). This action lab will teach you how to make the skills you have shine to win you an interview! 

    *Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet to support actual work on resume during the workshop.

    Win Your Interview

    You have a great job search plan, a dynamite resume, and now an interview! This workshop gives you not only practice for common interview questions but also tips and techniques on how to best present yourself to the employer and the business (even with no work history!) to get that job offer. Learn how to tell stories and follow up after an interview.
