  • Hazard Mitigation Plan Survey

    Questions for Public Feedback
  • Project Information:

H-GAC, in partnership with the City of Angleton, as well as Austin, Liberty, and Walker counties' Offices of Emergency Management, is leading the update of Hazard Mitigation Plans (HMP) for these entities and participating jurisdictions within them. The plans will have various components, including a risk assessment, capability assessment, and a hazard mitigation action plan. This is an opportunity for you to provide input and document potential hazards that could affect residents.

The goal of a hazard mitigation plan is to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to life and property from natural hazard events. Additionally, any local government wishing to pursue funding afforded under the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs (HMGP) must have an approved Hazard Mitigation Plan to be eligible to apply for these funds.

This survey is designed to gather information from stakeholders in the City of Angleton, Austin County, Liberty County, and Walker County. The questions within this survey are for information-gathering purposes only and do not necessarily reflect any intent or future priorities of any governing body. This information will be shared with municipal, state, federal, and county entities for planning purposes.

Your input is critical in helping to ensure we know your concerns and build a plan that helps address them. Please note that individual answers will not be published in the plan.
