ART in the PARK is an annual juried art event sponsored by the Artists’ Group of Charlestown. Since 1998, ART in the PARK has consistently attracted talented artists from the New England area, becoming an extremely popular fine art event.

ART in the PARK 2023 will be held in the award winning City Square Park, Charlestown, MA on Saturday, September 9, 2023 (rain date Sunday, September 10th).
 
Event and Participant Information:
The Committee will jury and accept applicants based on creativity, originality of the work and presentation. Only original works will be considered. Various mediums including acrylic, oil, mixed media and watercolor painting, original prints and/or limited editions prints, photography, sculpture, glass and pottery, jewelry, fabric, textile and other fine art are acceptable.

Artists sites within the park are limited.

Exhibition space is 10 feet by 10 feet per artist.

All set up, tear down, display materials and clean-up are the exhibitor’s responsibility. 

Tents and/or Canopies can be used, if all sidewalls remain open and you provide your own weights to secure your panels/tents in case of windy conditions. STAKES ARE NOT PERMITTED, due to the underground sprinkler system.

Artists are required to represent their original work only.

The event runs from 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM with set up beginning at 8:00 AM.  Artists are expected to be present for the entire event.

Application Instructions:

Complete and sign application form below.  All Application Forms and exhibitor fees must be completed through our website no later than July 31st. Notification of Accepted Exhibitors will be notified no later than August 10, 2023. The application will require the following:

Digital image samples of your work with requirements of 1200 pixels on longest side and display at 300 dpi.
All digital images must be sent in the following format: Lastname_Firstname_Title.jpg (for example Hopper_Edward_MorningSun.jpg).
Application fee (non-refundable*): $135.00 for Non- AGC Members; $35.00 for AGC Members. 

 

*Your application fee will be refunded to you in full if your application is not accepted by the jury committee for any reason.

 

The list of the Accepted Exhibitors'  site assignments will be posted on our website by September 2, 2023.
 
All proceeds from sales at Art in the Park are the property of the artist, and no commission will be taken.
 
We will select sites for each artist and consider requests. However, we ask exhibitors to respect these designated boundaries. Please do not ask to change your assigned area as informational materials have been printed for you and those attending the event.

E-Invitations for Art in the Park 2023 will be sent to participating artists. The event will be highlighted on the AGC website and listed in the September issue of Artscope Magazine.
