  • 2023 Youth Bias Taskforce Student Competition Submission Form

  • New Jersey's Division on Civil Rights is launching the third annual student competition Youth Bias Task Force Student Art Competition with this year's focus being "Combating Bias Through Art". Young people throughout New Jersey are encouraged to create and submit artwork and videos that will raise awareness around the need to counter the recent rise in bias incidents and inspire others across the state to stand up to hate in their communities.

    Eligible Entrants

    • Open to New Jersey residents age 25 and under
    • One submission per student or student group per category.

    Timeline

    • Accepting from: 12:00 am on September 15, 2023
    • Deadline: 11:59 pm on December 31, 2023
    • Competition Exhibit Reveal and Awards Ceremony: April 2024
  • If you are a group submission, please identify ALL members. Any member under age 18 must provide parent/legal guardian information in the following format:

    1. Member name, age, school, town, and county
    2. Parent/legal guardian name, phone number, and email address
    3. All members must provide a Consent Form/Statement of Release

  • If you are under 18 years of age, your legal guardian/parent must review and complete the remainder of the form with you.

    All submissions must be named in the following format.

    For Art: 2022_Art_Last Name_First Name

    For Video Submission (also include the script to your video):

    VIDEO SUBMISSION THAT DO NOT INCLUDE A SCRIPT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

    Please note that accepted file types for Art are Word, PDF, Tiff, JPEG, and PNG; for Video AVI, MP4,and MOV 

    High Resolution: 300 DPI, 2550 x 3300 px

    FILES NOT PROPERLY NAMED WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

  • You must click "Submit" in the green box to complete your application to the student competition and recieve a confirmation email.

  • If you are unable to upload your project, due to size limit you can also submit a thumb drive to the following address:

    3. Word Document containing:

    2. Name, Age, Phone Number, Email Address
    3. School, Town, County
    4. If under age 18, must provide Parent/Legal Guardian’s Name, Phone Number and Email Address
