The SHPE at LM Aero Scholarship is an achievement based award that recognizes well-rounded graduating high school students who have demonstrated academic excellence, service to the Hispanic community, and provided commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Applicants shall meet ALL of the following requirements:
- Be a graduating senior pursing a STEM field (Please note nursing or medical fields are excluded from STEM fields based on the Department of Homeland Security STEM classifications. STEM fields include Electrical Engineering, Mechanincal Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, and Chemistry)
- Be attending a high school in Tarrant, Parker, or Johnson County, or a SHPE LM Aero partnership high school
- Complete a 650 to 750 word essay (topics listed in checklist below)
- Submit one letter of recommendation
- Submit a copy of high school transcript (must show cumulative un-weighted grade point average (GPA) on a 4-point scale)
- Submit copy of ACT and/or SAT report
- Provide intended college of attendance
- Provide information regarding awards, leadership, volunteer activities, and work experience
*Dependents of Lockheed Martin employees that are in the SHPE LM Aero Board and/or Scholarship Committee are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Students who are selected for final review will be contacted in May and are required to provide their college/university acceptance letter and student ID.
