The Genesee Foundation is a premier mountain community comprising nearly 900 homes with a diverse range of approximately 1,800 residents. These residents frequently utilize local businesses and services for needs such as home maintenance, remodeling, childcare, elder care, and catering.

While personal referrals are valuable, targeted print advertising in The Genescene, our monthly magazine distributed to all residents, provides an excellent opportunity to introduce your business to this engaged community and drive new sales.

We encourage you to be creative with your advertising space, think outside the box. Coupons are a great way to make your customers feel like VIPs at your business.

 

Deadline

To ensure your advertisement is featured in the desired magazine issue, please adhere to the following deadline:

Submission Deadline: The 10th of every month prior to the desired issue month. If the 10th falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the deadline will be extended to the following Monday.  

Example:
Desired Display Month: October
Deadline for Submission: September 10th

Ensure that all materials are submitted by this date to allow sufficient time for review and inclusion in the magazine.

 

Rates

Our ad rates vary, depending upon whether a simple classified ad; business card; or quarter, half, or full-page display is desired. All spaces are first come first serve, and availability varies. 

Premium locations: (price per issue)

·       Inside Front Cover: (7.50”x10.50”) $630 Resident | $700 Non-Resident

·       Inside Back Cover: (7.50”x10.50”) $570 Resident | $630 Non-Resident

·       Outside Back Cover: (7.50”x10.50”) $520 Resident | $570 Non-Resident

Standard locations: (price per issue)

·       Standard Half Page: (7.50”x4.50”) $340 Resident | $385 Non-Resident

·       Standard Quarter Page: (3.75”x4.50”) $180 Resident | $200 Non-Resident

 

Option 1: Month-to-Month (No Commitment)

Business Card Advertisement (price per issue)

·       Resident Rate: $45 per month

·       Non-Resident Rate: $50 per month

Classified Advertisements (price per issue)

·       Resident Rate: $10 per line | after 4 lines: $7 per line

·       Non-Resident Rate: $11 per line | after 4 lines: $8 per line

Option 2: 6+ Month Commitment (Best Value – Pay in Full)

Business Card Advertisement

·       Resident Rate: $40 per month

·       Non-Resident Rate: $45 per month

Classified Advertisements

·       Resident Rate: $8 per line | after 4 lines: $5 per line

·       Non-Resident Rate: $9 per line | after 4 lines: $6 per line

Applies to all advertisement styles EXCEPT classifieds.

Preferred Resolution: Higher resolutions are better for sharp and clear images. Aim for at least 300 DPI (dots per inch) at the final print size.

Full-Page Photos: Typically, these should be sized to fit the magazine’s full page dimensions, which are 8.5 x 11 inches.
Half-Page Photos: If used for half-page layouts, adjust to approximately 7.25 x 5 inches or similar dimensions.
Quarter-Page Photos: Often around 3.5 x 4.5 inches.

Preferred Formats: TIFF (.tif) or PSD (.psd) are commonly preferred for print due to their high quality and support for layered images.
Alternative Formats: JPEG (.jpg) is acceptable, but ensure the file is saved at the highest quality setting to avoid compression artifacts.

CMYK: Photos should be in CMYK color mode, as this is the color mode used for printing. RGB color mode is used for digital screens and may not translate well to print.

Avoid Compression: Minimize the use of compression to retain image quality.

Additional Tips: Ensure the file size is large enough to maintain quality at the print size but not so large that it becomes cumbersome to manage. Typically, files should be between 5 MB and 20 MB, depending on resolution and dimensions.

By adhering to these guidelines, you’ll help ensure that your photos look professional and meet the magazine’s quality standards.

After the request is submitted you will be contacted to finalize details.

Once your application process is reviewed and details are final, you will be asked for payment. You can make your payment by check, made out to The Genesee Foundation, or via PayPal, which will be sent to you via email and allows for payment with a credit or debit card. Please note that payment will be processed only after your advertisement request has been approved.
