  • The Diversity in Development Program convenes traditionally underserved nonprofit and philanthropic development professionals around shared learning experiences in fundraising and financial sustainability, seeding an organic peer network for its members.

    • Developing Major Gifts*: Master techniques for securing significant contributions using personalized engagement methods to create impact. Dates: August 25 - 27 from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM [SESSION PASSED]

    • Purposeful Boards, Powerful Fundraising: Equip your board members with the tools to amplify your organization’s fundraising capacity. Dates: September 23 and 24 from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM [SESSION PASSED]

    • NEW Fundraising Campaigns: From Capital to Comprehensive*: Explore capital, endowment, comprehensive, and project-based campaigns. Dates: November 3 - 5 from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

    * You can now earn your Certificate in Fund Raising Management from Indiana University's Lilly Family School of Philanthropy by completing the four courses indicated above!

    Cost: There is a $75.00 material fee per course that offsets the cost of essential resources, materials, and refreshments for the course.

    • DEVELOPING ANNUAL SUSTAINABILITY *

      Successful fundraising is an ongoing process. As you continue to identify new donors, you also need to maintain good relations with current donors and encourage them to repeat and increase their giving. Learn and strengthen the fundraising skills that can sustain your organization including direct mail, online giving, major gifts, and special events. There is a $75.00 material fee which covers essential resources, handouts, and refreshments for the course.
    • DEVELOPING MAJOR GIFTS *

      Raise more money by receiving more major gifts. Consistent donors can become major donors when you effectively implement the Eight-Step Major Gifts Management Cycle. Identify and utilize your communication strengths when meeting with donors to develop major gifts and increase your fundraising success. There is a $75.00 material fee which covers essential resources, handouts, and refreshments for the course.
    • PURPOSEFUL BOARDS, POWERFUL FUNDRAISING

      Fundraising success depends on organization-wide efforts from the leadership of the board to the dedication of front-line staff. This course focuses on the role the board plays in fundraising and how to best structure the organization to support this role. Board members and staff will work collaboratively to develop an action plan to improve the culture of philanthropy in your organization, improve board recruitment and training, and ensure the organization has a solid case for support. REQUIREMENT: A staff person and a board member MUST attend this course together. There is a $75.00 material fee which covers essential resources, handouts, and refreshments for the course.
    • FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS: FROM CAPITAL TO COMPREHENSIVE*

      Discover the keys to successfully planning a fundraising campaign. This course explores capital, endowment, comprehensive, and project-based campaigns. You will navigate the decision-making process, considering the "why" and "why not" factors, and uncover intangible benefits for your organization, beyond finances. Learn how to engage stakeholders effectively, utilizing proven strategies and tools to design, implement, and manage campaigns. You will gain practical skills that you can apply within your nonprofit context. There is a $75.00 material fee which covers essential resources, handouts, and refreshments for the course.

      If we cannot verify your completion of the Principles & Techniques of Fundraising course, your registration for advanced courses will be canceled.
