The nature of our work may at times be mental-health related in nature. Hospitality workers, their family members, co-workers, etc. may come to us at times with sensitive information. We require our volunteers to attend confidentiality and mental health awareness training provided by Serving Up Support: Maine to best serve our Hospitality community. Our support group members, staff, volunteers, board members, and anyone seeking support should always feel safe and secure contacting any of us for support for anything. That also includes not disclosing personal information or mental health struggles with anyone outside of the organization. Seeking support can be very difficult for people, especially those in the Hospitality Industry, and our goal is to make the process easier and to fight the stigma associated with mental health in the Hospitality Industry.
