Founded in 2008, the Essentials For Godly Living, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charity that supports education, the
arts, character development and numerous community building activities in Palm Beach County. The
Mission of the Reggie Asberry Legacy Music Scholarship Program, in conjunction with Essentials for
Godly Living, is to empower students through the transformative power of music. We are dedicated to
providing financial support and character-building opportunities that enable aspiring musicians to pursue
their passions, develop their talents, and cultivate their artistic voices. By honoring Reggie Asberry’s love
for music and his commitment to uplifting others, we strive to create a nurturing environment that fosters
creativity, confidence, character and community. Together, we aim to empower the next generation of
musicians and leaders, guiding them to shine brightly and make a lasting impact in the world through
their artistry.
Purpose: To identify high school seniors passionate about music who demonstrate talent, dedication, character and a commitment to their education.
Reward: Numerous students will be selected to receive a financial scholarship that will help cover tuitioncosts, music lessons, instrument purchases, or educational resources necessary for their musical
development. In addition to financial support, scholarship recipients will perform at the awards ceremony
showcasing their talent, skills and abilities. They will also have an opportunity to network with industry
professionals who are qualified to enhance their skills and foster their growth within the music
community.
Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:
- A graduating senior who resides in Palm Beach County, Fl and is a U.S. Citizen
- Participates in their high school Choral, Band or Musical Theatre Program
- Has a 2.5 or higher GPA
Requirements: Candidates must complete the following
- Upload 2 Recommendation Letters: 1 from your High School Choral or Band Instructor and 1 from a teacher, counselor or community person (may not be from a relative)
- Upload your most recent High School Transcript with school seal and 7 semesters listed on transcript
- Upload your College Acceptance Letter
- For Students who will major in Music and Theatre: upload a video of your talent (3 minutes or less)
- Upload your scholarship essay (max. 500 words). The essay prompt is:
Describe your passion for music; future career asprirations and the impact this scholarship will have on your journey.
