Eligibility and Deadlines
Eligibility: Open to artists with a current studio or affiliation with Mana Contemporary. You can only apply for a highlight wall for the floor that your studio is on.
Installation: The selected artists will be responsible for the installation and deinstallation of the work; due to the structure of the walls, the works have to be hanging with nails or hooks, unless otherwise notify in advance during the submission process.
Exposure: The exhibition will be featured on Mana’s website for the duration of the show and will be included during the public tours.
Opening Dates: Mana will determine a date during the duration of the shows to celebrate with a proper opening reception per floor. (Often connected to Open House) If the artist decides to do something different on their own, it will have to be during working hours and days, unless approved by Mana Contemporary.
Submission Requirements: 1-2 images of the proposed work no bigger than 1MB. A brief statement (150–250 words) about the piece and its relevance to your practice.
Deadline: Ongoing. Applications are reviewed three times a year (1st week of March, 1st week of July and 1st week of November) and aritsts notified when accepted to present.
Submissions will be reviewed shortly after and announced as soon as the decision is made. The review will be done by Mana Contemporary and Monira Foundation representatives and affiliated members.
* please note, Mana Highlights designated walls are public spaces, usually high trafficed by visitors. While Mana Contemporary will take every percusion all artwork will be exhibited at the artist own risk.
