    Challenging a Sanction on the Basis of Mistaken Identity

    If the Team Official believes that a Participant has been mistakenly identified on the team sheet by a Match Official as having received a Yellow Card, Red Card the Team Official must is to refrain from signing the team sheet and instead write the word ‘dispute’ in this section of the team sheet.

    If a Participant (or their Club) believes that they have been mistakenly identified on the team sheet by a Match Official as having received a Yellow Card, Red Card, Temporary Dismissal or Temporary Dismissal Suspension, or have been mistakenly identified in a Match Official send off report, the Participant (or their Club) must notify CF by submitting the Challenging Referee Sanction form before the close of business for the next working day after the conclusion of the Match (e.g. where a Match has occurred on a weekend, the form must be sent by 5:00pm on the Monday directly following that same weekend).

    An obvious error, for the purpose of these Regulations means a decision by a Referee to:

    • expel a Team Official when no expulsion was warranted;

    being a decision that no reasonable Referee, in possession of all the facts, including those available to Management, could reasonably have made.

    If a Club believes that there has been an obvious error in a decision by the Match Official, they must notify CF by submitting the Challenging Referee Sanction form and attaching sufficient evidence

    before the close of business for the next working day after the conclusion of the Match (e.g. where a Match has occurred on a weekend, the form must be sent by 5:00pm on the Monday directly following that same weekend).
