Petition subject matter: Reject the proposed Minor Amendment to zoning by-law 133 Dufferin Ave, Brantford, ON (File number PZ-12-2025).
We the undersigned residents of Brantford are calling on you to reject the proposed re-zoning of the property municipally addressed as 133 Dufferin Ave.
The subject lands are currently designated “Residential” in the City of Brantford Official Plan and are zoned “Neighbourhood Low Rise Zone (NLR)” in Zoning By-law 124-2024. The proposed re-zoning in the Neighbourhood Low Rise Zone (NLR) is to permit a medical clinic.
Medical Office is defined as (according to the applicants planning justification report, available to the public through the planning department at city hall):
“shall mean a lot and a building, or structure, or portion thereof, in which medical practitioners provide consultation, diagnosis, and/or treatment of patients, but shall not include accommodation for in-patient care, or facilities for surgical procedures which require hospitalization according to the criteria approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons.”
We the undersigned, call for the planning committee to reject this proposal. Rejecting this amendment keeps within the City Plan for the area and its housing stability initiatives.
