    Citizen of the Year Nomination

  • Nominees for 2026 Citizen of the Year will be recognised at an Awards Ceremony to be held on Wednesday 14 January at the Meeniyan Hall.

    The achievements of each nominee will be also be featured in local newspapers, on Council's Facebook page and online. The names of the overall winner in each categroy will also be inscribed on the Australia Day Honour Board in Memorial Hall.

    Please note that posthumous nominations are not eligible.

  • Nominator

  • Nominee Attributes

  • Please consider what contributions your nominee has made to their community - both over the past 12 months and previous years. Don't overlook asking your nominee for their community resume and assistance for accuracy on items such as dates.

  • Referees

  • Please attach at least two letters of support which complement the nomination. Letters of support can be from an individual, or an office bearer writing on behalf of a group. Please note that South Gippsland Shire Council staff or Councillors cannot be referees.
