  • About Campus Roots:

    Background
The Campus Roots Garden Club (Lethbridge, AB) was founded in 2008 as a community garden for students and staff affiliated with the University of Lethbridge. In 2010, the University entered into an agreement in principle with the City of Lethbridge to develop the campus garden into a community garden serving the residents of Lethbridge. As a result, the Club revised its bylaws to become the Campus Roots Community Garden Association.

    Mission and Vision
Our main mission is to provide garden plots for the use of members. As a co-operative endeavor, we seek to enrich the lives of our members through increased awareness and education about nutrition, sustainability, and the environment, respect, and basic agricultural production while encouraging a well-grounded sense of community among members.

The Association's secondary purpose is to benefit the University and Lethbridge communities by offering a forum where community members can learn from each other about sustainable, organic, local-level agricultural production.

    What You will Get:

    • Grow your own vegetables 🌱
    • Meet new people in your community
    • Share and take home fresh produce
    • Learn sustainable gardening skills
    • Enjoy discounts at local garden centres

  • About Fresh Food Drop Shifts:

Our Fresh Food Drops occur once a month to provide students with fresh produce.

Volunteers can sign up for two types of shifts:

    1. Preparation Shift – Sort produce into bags and prepare vegetables for distribution the following day.

    2. Collection Shift – Transport food boxes from the delivery dock to the Bodega and refrigerate items as needed. This is an on-call shift; volunteers will be notified by email or text when needed.

    • Preparation Shifts - Sorting produce into bags
    • Collection Shifts - Moving and placing delivery
    • This is an on-call shift. When a delivery arrives, you will be notified by email or text with the scheduled time. Please note that delivery times vary, so flexibility is important.
