  • Are you interested in joining the planning team for the National Sex Ed Conference 2027? Tentative NSEC location is Washington DC, February 2027. We're looking for passionate individuals to apply!

    Joining the National Sex Ed Conference Planning Team offers several outstanding benefits, including:

    As a planning team member, you'll be expected to dedicate time and creativity to the event's success.

    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Volunteering a minimum of 10 hours per month in the lead up to the conference.
    • Working a minimum of twelve hours during the conference week on site
    • Participating in one to two conference calls per month, with frequency increasing as the event approaches.
    • Promoting the conference within your networks as instructed by the organizers.
    • Maintaining consistent email communication, especially as the conference date nears.
    • Contributing to the conference program by assisting in the selection of keynote and featured speakers.
    • Engaging in creative planning and detail-oriented tasks.
    • Supporting on-site logistics, such as attendee registration, workshop moderation, and leading special interest or networking groups.
    • Conducting at least 20 peer reviews of workshop proposals, allocating 10-15 minutes per review to ensure comprehensive feedback.
    • Fully engaging with the planning team to ensure the conference's success.
    • Contributing to the Pay It Forward scholarship program by making a donation (no minimum required) and encouraging your networks to do the same.
    • Adhering to the NSEC Code of Conduct.
    • Being 18 years of age or older.

    • The selection process is competitive. While the CSE values and carefully reviews each application, unfortunately, not all applicants can be accepted.

    If accepted, I commit to:

    • Volunteering at least 10 hours per month, in addition to providing a minimum of twelve hours of onsite support.

    • Completing all my assigned responsibilities to the best of my ability, which, if fulfilled, entitles me to a $200 honorarium.

    • Assisting with advance planning and logistical tasks.

    • Reviewing a minimum of 20 workshop proposals to ensure a diverse and engaging conference program.

    • Making the most generous monetary donation possible to the Pay It Forward scholarship program, aiding others in attending the conference.

    • Encouraging my professional network to support the Pay It Forward scholarship program through donations.

    • Engaging fully with the planning team to contribute to the success of the conference.

    • Confirming that I am at least 18 years of age or older.

    • Understanding that my conference registration will be complimentary, but I will be responsible for my travel, hotel, and meal expenses.
